In-person Registration Snow-Day make-up on March 2

Southwest Little League will hold a make-up date for the February 9th in-person registration event that was cancelled due to the snowstorm.

SWLL board members will be at the log cabin at Steve Cox Memorial Park on Saturday, March 2 starting at 9 a.m. to help register players for the 2019 season.

Online registration closes on March 15.

What to bring

When registering, players must be able to validate two things through documentation: their league age and their eligibility to play in Southwest Little League.

Verifying age can be as simple as showing the child's birth certificate. Note, only the original, government-issued certificate is valid for this purpose. No copies or souvenir certificates can replace this. Read Little League's requirements on proof-of-age at their website for more details, including alternate documentation.

There are two separate ways league eligibility can be verified: through your child's school and by address of legal residence.

If your child's school is within the Southwest Little League boundaries, you can provide an official school enrollment record from the school dated prior to October 1, 2018. Otherwise, you would need to have a Little League-issued school-attendance form completed by the school's principal, assistant principal, or other administrator.

Alternately, a player's eligibility can be validated through their home address. Parents or guardians will need to provide three separate documents dated between February 1, 2018 and February 1, 2019. Each document must come from a different group of sources.

Group One: Driver License of parent, school records, vehicle records (registration, lease, etc), employment records, insurance documents.

Group Two: welfare/child care records, federal records (tax filings, social security documents), state records, municipal records, support payment records, homeowner/tenant records, military records.

Group Three: voter registration, utility bill (gas, electric, water/sewer, phone, mobile phone, heating, waste disposal), medical records, internet/cable/satellite records.

And, of course, there is the matter of registration fees. SWLL's fees this year range from $100 (tee ball and coach pitch) to $115 (all levels above coach pitch). Additionally, there are fees if parents decide to opt out of the fundraiser ($50 per child) or volunteering time with the league during the season ($50 per family).

Special note for upper-level players

If you are going to register a player for any divisions where the players pitch (i.e. not tee-ball or coach pitch), player evaluations for your player will take place later that day!

Players are required to be evaluated for ability level to assure rosters are built for ideal competition and development levels. Please have your player ready to go at noon!

Discounted Registration Available

Because we want to make sure baseball is available to everyone, regardless of financial situations, Southwest Little League is proud to offer discounted registrations to families in need.

Please contact the league by email at [email protected] for assistance.

Online registration will remain open

Though we will ideally have everyone registered by March 2, there will still be room for late-comers.
