What age does my child need to be to play in Southwest Little League?

SWLL has baseball teams for children between 4-16 years old and softball teams for girls ages 6-16. To play this year children must be born prior to September 1, 2019 and after August 31, 2006. Kids are grouped by age and play in levels listed below (called divisions). If you think your child should be playing in a different level, please let us know.

• T-ball: 4-5 year olds

• Coach Pitch: 6-7 year olds

• Minor Division: 8-10 year olds

• Major Division: 11-12 year olds

• Junior Division: 13-14 year olds

• Senior Division: 14-16 year olds

How much does it cost to enroll my child in SWLL?

Prices vary depending on the age of the child, and range from $125-$175 per child for the whole season. Scholarships are available. We want all children who are interested to be able to play.

How do I apply for a scholarship?

This year scholarships are being provided by T-Mobile to all families that receive Medicaid, Food Stamps (SNAP), or WIC. Visit https://www.littleleague.org/call-up-grant-program/ to fill out an application. If you do not receive Medicaid, Food Stamps or WIC but are in need of a scholarship, please contact us at [email protected] and we will be glad to talk more with you.

What gear or supplies will my child need?

Players at the coach pitch level and older will need cleats and boys will need cups. All players will need to supply their own glove; bats and helmets are optional. If you need help with any of these items, please reach out to us at [email protected] and we would be glad to provide whatever assistance we can.

When are practices and games, where will they be, and when do they start?

Practices start the first week of March and games start the first week of April. Tee-ball teams will have a practice or game 2 days a week, one on a weekday at 5 or 6pm, and one on Saturday. Older players will have more days of practice and games. You will not know your team's exact schedule until teams have been assigned and the field schedule has been finalized. Can boys and girls both play for SWLL? Can older players sign up if it is their first year?

Children of all genders can play in SWLL at all age levels, and we welcome all children regardless of their previous experience playing a sport. Tee-ball and baseball teams are co-ed and are not separated by gender, our softball program is girls only. If you have a child who is interested in baseball or softball, we would love to work with them.

¿Qué edad debe tener mi hijo para jugar con la Southwest Little League?

¿Pueden los niños y las niñas jugar para SWLL? ¿Los jugadores mayores pueden jugar si es su primer año?

Los niños de todos los géneros pueden jugar en SWLL en todos los niveles de edad, y damos la bienvenida a todos los niños sin importar su experiencia en la práctica de un deporte. Los equipos de béisbol son mixtos y no están separados por género.  Los equipos de softbol son solo para niñas. Si tiene un hijo interesado en el béisbol, nos encantaría trabajar con su familia.
