RETURN TO PLAY
SWLL COVID-19 Preparedness Policy & Procedures
Our first step in creating this plan is looking at where COVID and youth baseball lay in the Washington State mandated plan. Youth sports have been laid out into three risk levels, low risk, moderate risk and high risk. Youth baseball has been deemed to be a moderate risk sport. The state has created various phases of COVID restrictions. Although “Return to Play” addresses the current set phases, the state has changed its plan in the past and it may change again. Therefore amendments to this plan are quite possible. There is also no guarantee that once we reach an advanced phase, we will not fall back into a previous phase.
Health and safety for all league members is in the forefront. Therefore, in accordance to the guidelines set forth by the State of Washington, Western Regional Little League and the CDC, Southwest Little League has developed the following program. Our format lists state mandates followed by SWLL guidelines to achieve those mandates and keep our volunteers, players and families safe.
Quarantine- No baseball practices or play are allowed. Fields are closed. Stay safe, stay home!
PHASE 1
Masks are required for all volunteers, players and spectators at all times. Social distancing of 6’ is required between players, coaches and spectators at all times. One spectator per player is allowed. Outdoor team practices, training and intra-team competitions are allowed. Players, volunteers and spectators are to stay home if they feel unwell or show any signs of COVID-19 or have been in close contact of a confirmed case. All volunteers and players are to be screened prior to practices. Those with signs of COVID-19 or have been in close contact with someone confirmed with COVID-19 will not be allowed to practice. Anyone excluded from practice will need to follow local DOH quarantine guidelines prior to returning to practices. Players and volunteers must follow good hygiene practices. Use the provided hand sanitizer, covering all surfaces of hands, rubbing them together until dry. No spitting allowed. Clean high touch surfaces and disinfect shared equipment before and after use with disinfectants registered by the EPA. Keep a roster of each team in order to assist with contact tracing in the event of possible exposure.
*EPA approved wipes will be provided by the league. Equipment disinfectant sprays will be provided by the league. The sprays will contain either 1/3c 6% bleach or 1/3c 70% alcohol per gallon of water.
